About Dosa Chaska

Dosa Chaska is a community-rooted food brand celebrating the depth of Indian vegetarian cuisine, wellness, and cultural storytelling. From our mobile trailer to our Whitehaven hub, we bring flavour, joy, and connection to events across Cumbria.

Role Overview

As a Food & Culture Ambassador, you’ll support our kitchen and event operations — assisting with food service, engaging with customers, and helping share the Dosa Chaska story. You’ll start by serving pre-prepared items and assisting with setup, and gradually learn how to make dosas using ingredients prepared in our commercial kitchen.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who’s curious, reliable, and excited to grow — whether you’re just starting out or looking to build experience in food, events, or community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve Indian vegetarian food and drinks (prepared in advance)
  • Operate POS systems and handle payments
  • Engage with customers and share the Dosa Chaska story
  • Create social media content using Canva and Instagram
  • Support wellness workshops (e.g. cooking demos, dance, yoga)
  • Assist with trailer setup, packing, and event logistics
  • Learn to make dosas using pre-prepared ingredients (with training)

Training & Development

We’ll support you with hands-on training and certifications, including:

  • Food hygiene & safety certification
  • POS and basic Excel training
  • Canva and social media workshops
  • Customer service and storytelling skills
  • Cultural awareness and wellness engagement

What We’re Looking For

  • Friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic personality
  • Interest in food, culture, and community wellness
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel to events across Cumbria
  • Legal right to work in the UK

What We Offer

  • Flexible hours to suit your schedule
  • Free meals during shifts
  • Training certificates and skill-building workshops
  • A supportive, inclusive team environment
  • Opportunities to grow into food prep, event coordination, or content roles
